Our Denomination

Anchor Church is a member of the Assembly of God (A.O.G.) in South Africa.
The A.O.G. South Africa has well in excess of one million members in over 2000 congregations.
Constitutionally the A.O.G. is a fully integrated church. A General Conference is held every two years, where a non-racial General Executive is elected. A.O.G. South Africa is part of the world wide A.O.G. and yet is autonomous in South Africa. It has been a non-racial denomination since its inception and is administered by a multi-racial executive comprising of 22 members.

Church Culture

We are building a church culture that knows: It is built on the sacrifices of many and not just the gifts of a few.
It needs to grow smaller as it grows larger. It is marked by the power and presence of God. Our strategy is in steps not programs… always asking what next. That where there is unity, God commands a blessing. The word is a light to our path. Character is more important than charisma

Our Purpose

Influence: Being an influencer means living out our calling in a way that draws others to Christ. It’s about embodying Christlike behaviour in every area of our lives and embracing servant leadership whenever and wherever opportunities arise. Affluence: Affluence goes beyond financial resources. While money and assets are important for Kingdom-building, we recognize that in today’s world, time is the most valuable resource. A church that invests its time in serving the community through impactful events and programs can truly make a difference. This purpose shapes everything we do as a church family.
